OUR STORY
We (Clare & Antony) purchased Bengate Barn Cottages in May 2019 to establish a holiday business in North Norfolk. Clare had been a primary school teacher for many years and Antony works in Management Consultancy. We both grew up in Norfolk and although we have moved away, travelling and living in other parts of the UK as well as overseas, we both see Norfolk as home.
We live in Bengate Barn with our two children Austin and Lily, as well as our three dogs and many chickens! We all love the outdoors and this is the perfect location to make the most of it. Cycling, walking, running, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing or simply sitting on the beach.
THE BARN
Bengate Barn is a Grade II listed building that dates back to the early 17th century. Originally used to house cattle, the barn went on to be used as an industrial building for a number of years until it was converted into residential accommodation in 2008.
"Absolutely brilliant! We arrived at Bengate barn in the evening, had our own private parking space and the path to our accommodation was lit. We entered the property and were blown away. The place was incredible, spacious, sparkling clean and homely. We even had breakfast essentials left for us which was great! On our stay we visited Cromer, Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea which are all easy to get to. There are some great pubs locally and shops for everything you need. The hot tub was a great touch and all the utilities worked great. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Thanks so much! X"
